South Jeolla is the southwesternmost province on the Korean peninsula. It includes several islands off the coast of the mainland as well.
South Jeolla Province includes 22 cities and counties that circle around the historical city of Gwangju. Gwangju is self-governed as other major cities in South Korea and is not administrated as part of South Jeolla.
