Our visit to Mongtorang Goat Farm—Photo Journal 12.04.2022
Back at the beginning of December, I was happy to go on a little road trip with my wife and a few friends to Taebaek, Gangwon-do province in South Korea. It takes a few hours to drive from Seoul and it was well worth the visit. I had a great time, got some much-needed refreshment, enjoyed time with friends, and of course, had some time to create some photographs.
During our trip, we visited Mongtorang Goat farm which is located in Samsoo-dong, just outside of the main town of Taebaek and not far from the Taebaek train station and City Bus Terminal. Mongtorang Goat farm is beautiful. There’s a cafe that features a variety of coffee and lattes made with fresh goat milk and other treats as well. You can enter the hills/mountains with the rabbits and goats for an entry fee of only 5,000 won (about $5). There are other options available for an extra cost depending on the season including feeding the baby goats or picnicking.
We didn’t do any extras, we simply went into the main entrance for the 5,000 won fee to hike up the hills and see the animals. I was happy to photograph some of the animals along the way. Here are a few of the photographs:

I photograph mostly in black and white. But on occasion, I certainly will share some photographs in color. The above images, no, but I would like to share the following one which I particularly enjoyed in color over black and white. I’m curious about your opinion as well.

The view of the town from the top of these hills also drew my attention. I photographed the view from the hills of Mongtorang Goat farm, and I’m very happy with the following results.

I would say that if you’re in South Korea, living here, or spending a considerable amount of time here and you’re wanting to venture out of Seoul, and love animals, I would recommend going for a visit at Mongtorang Goat Farm. Additionally, it is not far from the east sea Taebaek bordering the city of Samcheok.
