From the big cities to the countryside all over the peninsula, there are some common characteristics that can be observed. One such feature that may go mostly unnoticed by the vast majority certainly doesn’t escape the respect and observation of this documentary photographer. Either because of being of little means, trying to earn a small living, or wanting to stay busy in the later part of life, some of the hardest working people in Korea, many elderly, walk the streets collecting boxes. In turn, they can turn in a large cart of boxes for a few dollars. Out of awe and pure respect, I’m happy to present this Boxes Collection documentary series. (For those who want more, I will share stories of some photographs in articles entitled Boxes collection.)
